Refunds, disputes, and cancellation.

This page explains how to cancel a subscription with Spanda, LLC, how we handle refund requests, and what to do if you see a charge you don't recognize.

Spanda sells software-as-a-service. We don't sell physical goods, so there's no shipping or return-of-goods process. Everything below is about access to digital services and the charges associated with them.

Cancellation01

You can cancel any active subscription at any time. There's no cancellation fee, and you don't need to give a reason.

How to cancel

The fastest way is from your account settings inside the product you're using. Look for "Billing," "Subscription," or "Account" and use the cancel option there. If you can't find it, or if the product doesn't yet expose a self-serve cancel button, email hello@spanda.llc from the address on the account and we'll cancel for you.

What happens after you cancel

Your subscription stays active through the end of the billing period you've already paid for. After that, the subscription will not renew and you'll be moved to the free tier (if there is one) or your account access will end.

We do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of a billing period after a cancellation, except where required by law or where covered by the refund policy below.

Annual subscriptions: 14-day refund window

If you've just purchased a new annual subscription and you're not satisfied, email us within 14 days of the initial charge and we'll refund the full amount. After 14 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable except in the situations listed under "Exceptions" below.

Monthly subscriptions

Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. The remedy is to cancel; access continues through the end of the month you've paid for. We treat monthly billing as a low-commitment option, which is why we don't refund individual months.

Usage-based charges

Charges based on actual usage (API calls, compute, storage, and similar metrics) reflect resources you've already consumed and are non-refundable.

Renewals

We send a reminder before annual subscriptions renew. If a renewal goes through and you intended to cancel, contact us within 14 days of the renewal charge and we'll work it out.

We typically respond within three business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method through Stripe and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Disputes and chargebacks04

If you see a Spanda charge you don't recognize, please email hello@spanda.llc before disputing it with your bank or card issuer. Most issues are simpler to resolve directly: a forgotten subscription, a charge under a sub-brand name (for example, Sabermatic or Massive Autonomy), or a duplicate. We respond within five business days and refund where appropriate.

If you do file a chargeback or dispute through your card issuer, we may suspend the related account until the dispute is resolved. We'll provide records of the transaction (login activity, usage, and any prior correspondence) to the card network as part of the dispute process.

Free trials05

Some products may offer a free trial. If yours does, you won't be charged during the trial period. If you don't want to be charged when the trial ends, cancel before the trial period closes. Any charge that occurs after a trial ends is treated as a regular subscription charge under this policy.

Statement descriptors06

Charges from Spanda may appear on your bank or card statement under one of the following descriptors, depending on the product:

Spanda
The default descriptor used for most products operated by Spanda, LLC.
Sabermatic
Used for charges related to the Sabermatic product (sabermatic.dev).
Massive Autonomy
Used for charges from the Massive Autonomy sub-brand, where applicable.

All of these are part of the same legal entity (Spanda, LLC) and are processed through Stripe.
